Windows comes with a very nice calculator but even after so many years, it hasn't matured into something which can be easy to use.And coming to converters, there are apps for download from the web but what we want at our disposal is a simple solution which could do some simple currency and unit conversions,do some simple calculations,and all this without installing any app. We use Google search for anything and everything. And if you are someone like me who keeps the browser open throughout the day, then google is your base. We use google for all our search needs. But not many know that it doubles as a very efficient calculator and converter application too. Here are few examples of how you could use google as a calculator..

In order to fire up a simple calculation just type your query and the answer is shown.

Complex calculations are also possible.

For performing conversions, you need to include the '?' symbol in order to get the result as shown in the examples below.

Any kinda conversion is possible. Not only currency.

Snapdragon 1.3 and 1.5 GHz Processors

So, now that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 1-GHz chips in some mainstream devices like the HTC HD2 and Nexus One, it’s time down the road to see what comes next। It can only go from here, eh? Right. We have just learned that Qualcomm SVP of Product Management has confirmed that not get one, but two new Snapdragons before New Year’s Eve 2010, maxing out at 1.5 GHz.

Google's almighty phone the Nexus One has been torn apart by many gadget happy geeks and websites are reporting about its entrails ever since it launched a few days ago.

As we reported earlier, iFixit posted so we could see all the parts for ourselves, and now iSupply has priced all the components to come up with an overall cost of parts for the device. It turns out that it costs $174.15 to build a Nexus One. And this price does not include other expenses such as manufacturing, software, box contents, accessories and royalties. Very interesting indeed for a phone that is being sold for for $179 through T-Mobile.

"With the Nexus One, Google has taken the most advanced features seen in recent smart phone designs and wrapped them up into a single sleek design," said Kevin Keller, senior analyst, competitive analysis, for iSuppli. "Items like the durable unibody construction, the blazingly fast Snapdragon baseband processor and the bright and sharp Active-Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AM-OLED) display all have been seen in previous phones, but never before combined into a single design. This gives the Nexus One the most advanced features of any smart phone ever dissected by iSuppli’s Teardown Analysis Service—a remarkable feat given the product’s BOM is similar to comparable products introduced during the past year."

The Nexus One has got two microphones one of which is used for noise cancellation. The phone comes preloaded with five home screens to customize your interface. Other nifty features include voice enabled texting. The Nexus One automatically types in text when you speak into it. The Nexus One's interface is quite extraordinary, and the subtle touches are mouth watering. For example one of the wallpapers is a lake with leaves in it, if you touch the lake the water ripples. The phone is powered by Google's Android 2 operating system, and it runs wicker fast. You can buy the Nexus One at the Google web store. It costs $179 on T Mobile with a two-year contract. No word on when it would come to India and how much it would cost.

Converts The Movie With Compressor 4.7 GB to 100 MB

Install all the Softwares:

3) DVD Decrypter

Step (1): Insert your DVD into the drive and launch DVD decrypter. DVD Decrypter will detect the DVD and its file contents will now be displayed in the right pane. Now go to File > Browse and selectthe destination for the ripped VOB files. Keep in mind that the destination must have enough free space to store the contents of the entire DVD.

Step (2): After choosing the destination, click on File>Decrypt to start the decryption process. DVD Decrypter removes the Macrovision Protection by default, and you can set to remove region code as well by going to Tools > IFO > Region > Patch > Region Free. These are necessary for the next step. After the DVD ripping process is completed, close DVD Decrypter.

Step (3): Next Launch DVD2AVI. Go to File > Open. Make sure the correct track number in the Audiomenu is selected. You need to find the correct track number-most DVDs have multiple audio tracks indifferent languages. This can be checked by selecting one track at a time and playing it. Also click onthe Audio menu and navigate to “48>44.1KHz”, and select Off. Go to Help > SIMD Technology andselect all the optimizations supported by your processor. Now go to File > Save As AVI.

Step (4): Decide on a file name and choose a location with enough free space. You will now be prompted to choose a video compressor. Choose “DivX 6.x.x” from the drop-down menu where you can select the video compressor.

Step (5): Under the Certification Profiles, you can choose an appropriate preset profile such as High Definition, Home Theatre, Portable, Handheld, and Unconstrained. When you choose one of the above profiles, it is virtually guaranteed that the encoded DivX file will be playable on any standalone DivX-certified player. Click on Settings. You can select a bitrate of your choice. A higher bitrate means a larger file size and better quality, while a lower bitrate means a smaller file size and lower image quality.

Step (6): In the Codec tab, you can set the Encoding mode. The default setting is a good trade-off between quality and compression, but if you wish to control the file size, you can state your own mode such as High Performance, Better Quality, etc. Click on OK and then on save to start the video

demultiplexing process. This will take some time depending on the speed of your computer. At the end of this process, you’ll have an AVI file and a WAV file.

Step (7): We now get to the creation of the DivX file-putting together the video (AVI) and audio (WAV) files that were created in the previous step. Launch Virtual Dub. Under File > Open, browse to the folder where the AVI and WAV files are stored. Select the AVI file and click Open.

Step (8): Click on the Audio menu and click “Full Processing Mode”. Click again on the Audio menu and select “WAV Audio”. You will be prompted to open a WAV file. Select the WAV file you created earlier and click Open. Click on the Audio menu and then on Compression. Select “MPEG Layer-3” from the left pane and then select “128 KBit/s, 48,000Hz, Streo” in the right pane. Click OK.

Step (9): Select Interleaving from the Audio menu. Then, select the “mis” radio button and input “500” into the “Interleave audio every” dialog box. Click OK. Again, in the Audio menu, select Volume. Check the box and move the slider to 200 percent. Click OK.

Step (10): From the Video menu, select Direct Stream Copy.

Step (11): Go to File > Save As. Enter a file name of your choice at a location of your choice, andclick at a location of your choice, and click OK. This, again, will take some time, but not as much as the video encoding using DVD2AVI. After the process is complete, you’ll have a DivX backup of ypur DVD movie.

Step (12): All that’s left now is to burn the DivX backup up to CD or DVD using your DVD-Writer.

Zune HD - best candidate in pmp market

On May 26, 2009, Microsoft officially announced plans to release a touch-screen version of the Zune portable media player, intended to compete with Apple's iPod Touch. The new device is called the Zune HD, and offers several features not found on the iPod Touch, including an OLED display, HD radio, and high-definition video playback (using an optional dock accessory). Long-standing Zune features, such as a photo viewer, games, podcast management, and Zune Pass music subscription integration, will continue to be supported, as well.

The Zune HD will go on sale September 15, offered in 16GB and 32GB models, priced at $219 and $289, respectively. Both models will be available in stores with either black or platinum finishes. As with previous generations of the portable media player, additional color and customization options will be available at launch directly from Microsoft's Zune Originals online storefront.

The Zune HD will be the first Zune to include an Internet Explorer Web browser, complementing its other Wi-Fi features (song sharing, Channel streaming, and Zune Marketplace browsing). The Zune HD's browser is optimized for the touch screen with an onscreen keyboard, but there's no word on whether it will be capable of streaming Flash media (used by sites such as YouTube and Pandora), a capability that is currently lacking in the Safari browser for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Microsoft also unveiled plans to dramatically beef up the video download selection of its Zune Marketplace online store, and use the improved storefront to power the movie and TV downloads available to the Xbox gaming console. The new storefront will support movie rentals that can be transferred to Zune hardware (similar to iTunes movie rentals) playable from either your computer or from the Zune HD.

The Zune HD isn't the first MP3 player to offer a 3.3-inch touch-screen OLED display or high-definition video output, but it is one of the first portable audio devices to integrate an HD radio tuner. Beyond the added fidelity of HD radio, the format also lends itself well to transmitting artist and song data, which is useful for the Zune's existing FM radio song-tagging and download feature.

Microsoft rates the Zune HD's battery life at 33 hours of music playback and 8.5 hours of video (with Wi-Fi deactivated). If these numbers are accurate, they represent a considerable improvement over previous generations of Zune hardware, which were often criticized for poor battery performance.
