Use Google search as calculator and converter

Posted by emperor in

Windows comes with a very nice calculator but even after so many years, it hasn't matured into something which can be easy to use.And coming to converters, there are apps for download from the web but what we want at our disposal is a simple solution which could do some simple currency and unit conversions,do some simple calculations, and all this without installing any app. We use Google search for anything and everything. And if you are someone like me who keeps the browser open throughout the day, then google is your base. We use google for all our search needs. But not many know that it doubles as a very efficient calculator and converter application too. Here are few examples of how you could use google as a calculator..

In order to fire up a simple calculation just type your query and the answer is shown.

Complex calculations are also possible.

For performing conversions, you need to include the '?' symbol in order to get the result as shown in the examples below.

Any kinda conversion is possible. Not only currency.

Hope you liked this simple yet useful tip. :-)

Snapdragon 1.3 and 1.5 GHz Processors

So, now that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 1-GHz chips in some mainstream devices like the HTC HD2 and Nexus One, it’s time down the road to see what comes next। It can only go from here, eh? Right. We have just learned that Qualcomm SVP of Product Management has confirmed that not get one, but two new Snapdragons before New Year’s Eve 2010, maxing out at 1.5 GHz.

The first processor is called Snapdragon 8X50A, clocked at 1.3 GHz and is basically a 45-nm version of the current lion’s mouth. This chip will be sent to the manufacturer at the end of this month. Please note that this does not mean they are used in mobile phones that will soon be available, it just means that manufacturers design their equipment to these processors and begin construction of prototypes, so do not expect any new devices with this chip to the second half of 2010.

The follow-up of 8X50A is 8X72 and is much more exciting, because it will contain a dual-core chip with two 1.5 GHz cores Scorpion. This will see the light of day before the end of 2010, even though we did not know whether this means it is actually in cell phones or if the only means manufacturers will be at this time. Regardless, this chip is for smart phones and smart Books available, and 1080p HD resolution can. Not too shabby, we can not wait, what features devices are in store for us have CES 2011
